Did a Police Officer Initiate Minneapolis Rioting?

The video observes a masked individual smashing glass at the Minnehaha Ave Autozone in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and have found a very plausible likeness to a Police Officer. The cameraman asks, “Hey, are you a cop? Are you a f**king cop?” as the unnamed man starts to walk away from the scene.

The ex-wife of Officer Jacob Pederson of the St. Paul Police Department has suggested that the masked man most likely resembles the likeness of her ex-husband. She claims that the “voice, walk, everything” of the unnamed man is very similar to a St. Paul Minnesota Officer named Jacob Pederson. The woman also says that the mask and the gloves worn also belonged to her.

We do not yet have confirmed reports if the masked person is indeed Officer Jacob Pederson or not, but we will update as soon as we find out.

Update: As 29MAY20:
St. Paul Police have released a statement on the social media claims. The spokesperson for the department, Steve Linders stated “We are aware of the social media post that erroneously identifies one of our officers as the person caught on video breaking windows in Minneapolis. We want to be perfectly clear about this: The person in the video is not our officer,”

Is this just a weird coincidence? Maybe so.

The gas mask the vandal is wearing is a North 7600 Series Full Face Respirator, which is considered law enforcement issued. The gas mask, manufactured by Honeywell, can found purchasable here, it’s a whopping $300. Now I myself don’t own a gas mask, and if I did I don’t think I would be purchasing an expensive one such as that unless I was coming in contact with CS Gas.
